some nutty stuff I found while surfing ...

I followed a link from somewhere I ended up when I followed a link from somewhere I ended up when I followed a link from somewhere ... that I think I originally went to because someone e-mailed me a URL ... for a site that had an interesting link on it ... the first URL in this pile is actually where I ended up at the moment - I knew sooner or later I would end up on a blogspot page with the "blog this" button on it (I am feeling lazy ;-)

hmmm - my son just asked me what I was looking at, so I told him - "something about monkeys smashing nuts with rocks" ... he said "ouch" ... (I could say something else here, but I don't think I had better go there!).
btw - I like someone's comment on the bottom - about how maybe those monkeys are actually smarter than us ...
next (er previous? lol) I found the link to the monkey stuff on
http://www.buridansass.com/ (and yes - the title of the page does refer to a donkey, not something else - click on the "why ..." link on the top right). ... I am not too sure what the site is about (philosophy is like that ... lol) ... it has a whole pile of weird science related links to stuff like the study of decaying cockroaches ( http://pharyngula.org/index/weblog/comments/csi_cockroach/ ) ... which was actually interesting reading ...
that link was on http://www.badastronomy.com/bablog/ ... where I was reading all about how someone is selling the universe (well - a certificate of ownership for it anyway) on e-bay!
I ended up looking at that blog because it was part of the website where I was looking at this http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/tides.html ... which is quite interesting reading ... (if you are interested in that sort of stuff ... which I am ;-)

actually that reminds me of something - these are the kind of blokes I can imagine doing stuff like this ... if I can find the website again ... ah - found it - http://www.users.bigpond.com/bigtombrown/extreme_ironing/extreme_ironing_photos/ ... actually it is not the main website, which I found a few months ago, but these are the particular photos I was after ... except I think there was also a movie of the thing somewhere else too ...

if you go there, you will notice that there are a lot of people into this mad hobby ... it has taken off world wide - which just goes to show what a strange world we really do live in ... LOL
